Employees Partner Up With the Darby Creek Valley Association to Beautify the Nearby Darby Creek
Clifton Heights, PA- November 11, 2008 Profit•Point, Inc., a leader in the Gift and Loyalty Card Services industry and ranked by Inc. Magazine as the 59th fastest-growing privately held company in America, organized a cleanup of the Darby Creek in Delaware County on Sunday, November 9th, 2008 from 9am-1pm.
Profit•Point’s Corporate headquarters located in The Rockbourne Falls Business Center, a newly renovated, state of the art, eco-friendly facility overlooking the Darby Creek Waterfall. On Sunday employees and volunteers teamed up with Robyn Mann, President of the Darby Creek Association, to walk alongside the Darby Creek to clean and collect trash. The team collected a total of 22 bags of trash from the creek. Profit•Point plans to participate in another cleanup inviting local boy scouts to help on Sunday, November 16, 2008.
About The Darby Creek Valley Association
The Darby Creek Valley Association (DCVA) is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of all the Darby Creek watershed's resources, including water, wildlife, historical sites, and the floodplain. The Darby Creek watershed encompasses three counties in southeastern Pennsylvania (Montgomery, Delaware and Philadelphia) and eventually flows into the Delaware River at Tinicum, PA. The primary mission is public education. DCVA is a well-established organization with over 100 members, a board, several working committees, an annual conference, an annual stream clean up, educational programs, and partnerships with historical sites in the watershed. DCVA is working to implement a volunteer monitoring network ("StreamWatch") in the Darby Creek watershed which has a strong environmental education component and reaches out to local schools and stream-side residents. Specifically, they are meeting with local residents, schools, scout troops, etc. to encourage the groups to adopt sections of the stream for monitoring.
